“Live, From Orlando”

This week I’m going to be busy down in Orlando, Florida, where I will  be working and enjoying the 2014 meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

#ACSM2014 #ACSMAnnualMtg– hashtags that are getting a work out this week!!!

I will be involved in five talks, two of which are accessible on Scribd.  I wanted to make sure that attendees to the talks had access to the content as handouts…..so go ahead and download them (see below)!  And if you’re in Orlando come to the talks:  the Social Media session with @jonpatricios (Dr. Jon Patricios of S. Africa) will take place on Saturday a.m., and my lecture on patient outcome measures takes place on Thursday afternoon.

If you can’t make the talks, look over the slides.  If you want to know even more about social media for medical professionals, check out the BMJ Web Development Blog.  I really enjoy the work they do, including a great post on the value social media can add to conferences:  how the use of social media by participants can amplify the impact of an event, typically circumscribed by time and place.

So if you’re reading this, and you are at ACSM, start tweeting, posting on Facebook, sharing those photos on Instagram!

Besides delivering the talks (and a poster session), I’ll be keen on listening to some great talks given by friends, colleagues, and experts in the field.  And there will be those all important ‘networking’ sessions involving these same folks, NHL/NBA playoff games, and the ever-improving beer scene I’m told exists in Orlando.

See you there, or see you on line!
